Where We Are and
Where We're Going
Kaspa Wallet is an active open-source project. This roadmap reflects current development priorities. Phases overlap — completed work doesn't prevent work on later phases from starting early.
Phase 1
Foundation
CompletedThe core wallet experience is complete and shipping. Phase 1 established the fundamental building blocks — secure key management, full send and receive functionality, and verified desktop releases across all major operating systems.
- Core wallet — create, import, and manage KAS wallets
- Send and receive KAS with full transaction history
- BIP39 seed phrase support — 12 and 24 words
- AES-256 local encryption for all stored wallet data
- Desktop builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux
- SHA256 release verification for all distributed binaries
Phase 2
Power User Tools
In ProgressPhase 2 focuses on the features most requested by active users — hardware wallet security, organizational tools for managing contacts, and flexibility for advanced node configurations.
- Hardware wallet support — Ledger integration
- Address book for saving and labeling frequent recipients
- Custom RPC node configuration for self-hosted nodes
- Transaction notes and labels for personal record-keeping
Phase 3
Expansion
PlannedPhase 3 broadens the scope of what Kaspa Wallet can manage. Multi-account workflows, passive portfolio monitoring via watch-only wallets, and full support for Kaspa's emerging token standard are all on the horizon alongside a mobile companion app.
- Multi-account support — manage multiple wallets in one interface
- Watch-only wallets for monitoring addresses without exposing keys
- Kaspa token support — KRC-20 standard assets
- Mobile companion app for iOS and Android
Phase 4
Future Vision
FuturePhase 4 represents longer-term ambitions that extend Kaspa Wallet beyond a simple asset manager into a more capable layer of the Kaspa ecosystem. These goals are exploratory and will be shaped by community feedback and protocol developments.
- Built-in DEX integration for on-chain token swaps
- ENS-style human-readable naming for KAS addresses
- Cross-platform sync with end-to-end encryption
